A fighter for unseen enemy

Covid-19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which was found in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

It is very contagious and has spread rapidly all over the world. Consequently, this has put the entire world in a serious state. Philippine was one of the severely affected by this unseen but deadly disease. It's been almost two years since people feel like they are a prisoner in their own home.

Furthermore, many researcher have been studying a ways to stop the increasing crisis. That being said, they come up with vaccination. A vaccine is a biological preparation that provides active acquired immunity to a particular infectious disease. It is  typically contains an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins, or one of its surface proteins. This method made most people jumped at the chance to get their COVID-19 vaccine, while some have been more hesitant over concerns about safety.

People especially for the parents hesitate to get vaccinated for COVID-19 for many reasons. One is from personal views and the other is fears to logistical problems getting to vaccine sites. Some of them are afraid to vaccine their children because of side effects. However, waiting too long to be vaccinated allows the virus to continue spreading in the community, with new variants emerging. The importance of vaccination especially for elders and children had a big contribution to prevent and defend them from the virus. Not only that, It’s important to note that the overwhelming majority of people have mild side effects that are very common for most vaccines – fever, chills, muscle ache, fatigue – which are all signs your immune system is being primed for the real thing. Hence, there's no reason to be doubtful.

Being vaccinated is like having a protector. It makes us feel secured and free. Not only that, it can lower our risk of getting and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19.  Furthermore, Vaccine also help prevent us from  serious illness and death. So?  what are we waiting for? let's get vaccinated so that the disease does not infect us!
