Covid-19 Destroying Children's Freedom!

COVID-19, a new emerging infectious disease (EID), has spread throughout the world, and the government has declared a state of emergency, ordering the lockdown and confinement of the entire population. All children in the country have been confined to their homes since March 13 and are not allowed to leave at any time.

I feel like it’s really been unfair for all of us when this pandemic happens. The reality nowadays is fair pitiful since we all know that we will never go back to where we used to be. I am worried about the children’s wellbeing and their social interaction. It's fair disquieting because in case this widespread didn’t exist, they would have been like feathered creatures who fly openly. Instead, they were imprisoned in their own home for protection and safety.

Furthermore, children are experiencing consequences of the economic fallout which affected a lot of families who lose their income, food, insufficiency, or problem paying their rents. We didn’t realize that many have been starving due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

I can’t imagine the stress and trauma that the COVID-19 has impacted the children. It’s depressing how difficult their life was during these times, and I feel so bad because if it weren’t for the pandemic, it wouldn’t have happened. I hope that all the parents out there will be always loved and care for their children well because in situations like this-children needs light to guide them.

The world can be harsh sometimes. As a sister of my two younger siblings, I am concerned about their development and social growth. Because of the pandemic, their lifestyle had changed. They've been whining about going out, and their addiction to technology has grown. Their academic performance worsened, and schooling becomes more difficult for them. It was challenging for both of them to adjust to their new class since they are still young, and many things can easily distract them, such as personal devices, superfluous talking, consuming food, tardiness, class activities, and so on.

Fortunately, most teachers are compassionate and motivating, making their best to teach their children well even if it's a pandemic. I applaud them for making life easy for both students and students' children. I'm hoping that this issue will pass quickly. Finally, we all want to see the children's smiles and bright faces again.
