This pandemic has been hard for all of us. Many have been damage and one of that is the education. The face-to-face classes has been interrupted and forbidden due to Covid-19. The virus is spreading rapidly that the government decide to isolate us inside our homes. Face-to-face classes banning arise because of Covid that it became one of the hottest topics. This issue stopped when Dep-ed declares about the Modular Distance Learning where it allows the learner to use self-learning modules (SLMs) in print or digital format/electronic copy, whichever is applicable to the learner. Usually, teachers will have to deliver appropriate learning materials.
As a student, This new system of education wasn't easy especially for some of us that aren't used to self study. Moreover, there a lot of interruptions and distractions in our homes that we can't really focus on our studies. Despite the promises and obvious advantages to distance learning there are still challenges that need to be resolved such as Poor internet Connection, Lack of sleep, and the time to answer all the module due to the large number of tasks, distractions, and lack of focus. Most of this often happen to us and it's really frustrating. I don't want to complain about this but the 10 years I had experience to the face-to-face class is just so different. The social bond with friends and teachers that we used to have vanished. Yes, we have the gadgets and internet to communicate but it was not as good as before. When your on distance learning, getting in touch with your adviser is really difficult. Though you can send an email, it's definitely not going to get you the immediate response. Since, there's no classroom there's no ability to work on group projects or even converse with fellow students in a face-to-face environment, it's difficult to build relationships of any kind. Not only that but, but it really easy to start feeling lonely because youre working assignments and all school related all alone. Even posting to message boards and participating in group discussion can feel less interesting and interactive when they're done over internet rather than in-person. With this, Do you think we can go back to normal again? Possibly, but not yet! Everyone was aching to go back to where we used to be and I am part of it. We want a good future, and in my opinion, this wasn't bad but not good rather. It just that, I don't think this system will help us into our succession. In conclusion, I hope to be back in our normal lives again where everything is going fine.

You're right, despite SLM being a good idea for us students to learn while not having to got out it is also challenging for us due to, as you mentioned, slow internet, lack of sleep, distraction and many more.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct; distance learning is difficult for me as well, therefore I am also hoping that things will return to normal soon.
ReplyDeleteHi there! With regards to the quality education during Covid-19, I appreciate much those guidelines of protocols in conducting classes. It is really a preventive measures not to be affected by the virus; for students and teachers. And it is really great opportunity also, to continue to study through online distance learning and modules.
